me, not me

me, not me is a photographic work with self-portraits in black and white, created in the last three years while photographing myself in my home environment, reflecting my own search of space and time in a form of art, the inspiration of which is coming from the book "A Room Of One's Own" by Virginia Woolf.

This photographic work consists of 65 photographs which will be published as a photobook in February 2024.

The series does not only focus on having a

space, but also on body, identity and social roles in a woman's life; never ending discussions since centuries, and more disturbingly, by men especially in the cultures where women rights are socially and politically being violated as happening in my homeland.

The portraits in me, not me are for those who have found "A Room Of One's Own", for those who have struggled to create it, for those who seek it, and for those who cannot find it.
